Skincare | St Tropez Luxe Facial Oil Review

For a pale skinned girl like me, fake tanning is important. Now I'm not talking about the really fake look (no one likes to be orange, right?) I'm talking about a healthy glow to take the starkness off how white I really am. Over the years, I've dabbled with many brands- high street to high end and everything in between- and when it comes to my body, I've definitely found what products work best for me, but I must admit my face often feels a little neglected, and ends up a few shades paler than the rest of me. I used to think that facial tanners were a bit of a gimmick- a ploy from the brands to get us to spend double the money on two products that will effectively do the same thing, and used to just pile on foundation that was a few shades darker than my natural skin to match my face to my body, or just use the same product I'd used on my body, on my face. Now I'm older, and skincare has become such and important part of my routine (not to mention the fact that these days I'm trying to wear less makeup) the 'slap on the dark foundation' trick will no longer cut it, nor will using my body tan on my face. I want a product that's going to be kinder to the skin on my face and not block my pores, and one that will also give me a slightly more natural glow than I want on my body.

Makeup | SEVENTEEN Blogger Network Event

Last week I was lucky enough to be invited to the first ever SEVENTEEN blogger network event in London, so today I thought I would share with you a little round up of the evening. The Boot's makeup brand has been around since the 60's, and over the years has transformed from a brand that was solely aimed at teenagers, to a slick, on trend one that rivals it's competitors on the market. Since it's most recent re launch and makeover, SEVENTEEN now offers sophisticated packaging, amazing dupes and on trend products (they got straight on the contouring bandwagon, FYI) and all at super affordable prices. So of course I jumped at the chance to attend, and to learn a bit more about their products.

Beauty | August GlossyBox Review

This month marks the five year anniversary of GLOSSYBOX, the original beauty subscription box, so I knew that what was going to land on my doorstep in the form of August's edition would be extra special. The first surprise was that the usual pink and black box has been given a little makeover by the wonderful British brand Rae Feather, and is channeling preppy vibes with it's pink and grey combo and 'GB' logo. As always, August's box contains a handful of lovely treats, including two full size products, and in total is worth over £50- not bad for a £10 monthly subscription. Plus the great thing about GLOSSYBOX is that you can sign up for 3 month, 6 month, and yearly subscriptions, and the longer you sign up for, the cheaper your box becomes.

Skincare | OSKIA Micro Exfoliating Balm Review

The older I've got, the more important skincare has become in my everyday routine. Gone are the days when I would remove my makeup with a baby wipe, then slap on a bit of E45 cream if I remembered. Being in my thirties, I am now trying to reverse the damage of all the sunbeds I carelessly went on as a teenager, and all the nights I couldn't be bothered to take my makeup off, whilst preventing any further damage. These days, I'm happy to spend as much money on skincare as I do makeup, after all, we wear our faces everyday. I also like to rotate the products I use to ensure that my skin doesn't become too used to any of them, plus I'm always on the hunt for new brands to try and also new 'miracle products' that will make my skin look amazing.

Events | Farfetch SS16 Beauty Event with the London Makeup School

Last week I was invited by Farfetch to an evening at the London Makeup School, to pick up some tips and learn about some of the hottest SS16 looks from the Catwalk, as well as to celebrate the launch of beauty on their already amazing website.

If you aren't already familiar with Farfetch, it is a one stop online boutique for all of your favourite designer brands, and actually stocks over 400 of them, which is pretty impressive in itself. Now they have a beauty section, I have added so many more things to my already huge wishlist which is inevitable when they stock makeup, haircare and skincare products from brands such as Eve Lom, By Terry, Becca and Diptyque to name just a few. I love that the catalogue of brands has a real luxury feel, and most cannot be bought on the high street, so Farfetch is the perfect destination!

Fragrance | Quite possibly the best perfume dupes...ever

Us ladies all love a good fragrance, and like me, I'm sure most of your have at least one everyday 'signature scent' as well as many more heavier fragrances that you class as 'nighttime' or 'going out' scents. I am guilty of owning quite a few, but always tend to revert back to 2 or 3 of my ultimate favourites. Perfume is something I always put on Christmas and birthday lists- unless I've purchased it in duty free as a 'pre holiday' treat, I always feel quite guilty about buying it for myself as it's so expensive, so I have been known to look for a dupe- particularly for my everyday perfume which tends to run out so quickly.

Events | Spectrum Collections AW16 Bombshell Preview

Last week I was lucky enough to attend Spectrum Collection's AW16 preview event, and be among the first to see their amazing Bombshell brush collection in all it's glory. The event was held in near Soho in central London, and it was a great opportunity to meet the Spectrum girls and lots of other lovely bloggers, as well as seeing the Bombshell brushes ahead of their launch at the end of September.

Spectrum was started by sisters Sophie and Hannah a couple of years ago, and before long, the brands' beautiful brushes with their pastel handles and ombre bristles were all over social media. Yep, these brushes are probably the most Instagrammable on the market, plus add to the fact that they are seriously affordable (brushes start at just £3.99) and are cruelty free and 100% vegan, well, you can see why Spectrum are the makeup brush brand of the moment.
